Description

The LST200-F40 model is our smallest optical shutter featuring two positions sensors and a 4 mm aperture. This model is designed for use as a fast process shutter and quick reaction safety interlock. The inherent speed is achieved with efficient electrical power requirement. The F40 can be used in applications that operate continuously and has been proven to perform without failure beyond a half a billion cycles. The flexing motion is achieved using our patented technology for highest reliability. The solid copper package efficiently manages thermal flow, rapidly transferring the heat load to the mounting surfaces. Our optical shutters and laser shutters are optimized for use with our CX4000B shutter driver or user-built circuits designed around 24 VDC. The user-built circuit can be a typical current driver based around 24V or 24V / PWM drive circuit, although choice of controller / user circuit can affect the shutter’s switching speeds and bounce control. See the Mechanical Drawing tab for dimensions. Also see the Application Notes in the Technical Information menu for important operational issues including thermal mounting, user-built circuits, polarization, lifetime, jitter, vacuum operation, and contamination. The F40's Input Aperture face is the ideal thermal mounting surface for high heat loads. Alternatively, the bottom surface can be used for low-moderate heat loads. Restrictions for this model include proximity to high magnetic fields and strict observance of optical power rating. Large size particle contamination could inhibit blade motion causing failure to open or close.
